OVERVIEW

More and more coffee shops look the same– hipster. We created a new coffee shop concept for hopeless romantics to finally find their love in today's digital world.

THE ASK

Create a compelling concept for a coffee shop or coffee brand of your choosing that truly connects with an audience in a way that hasn’t been done before.

Use any medium available. BUT don’t simply sell bean water. Make us forget it’s just delicious bean water. – Judge Nick Maciag for Havas

Research

Problem

Online dating has taken the magic out of falling in love.

Target Audience

Hopeless romantics longing for their “meet cute.”*
*Meet Cute: Scenario when two individuals are brought together in some unlikely, zany, destined-to-fall-in-love-and-be-together-forever sort of way (the more unusual, the better).

Insight

Online dating has allowed people to avoid real-life interactions when looking for a partner. It's convenient, but we all secretly want to bump into our loves like in the rom-coms.

Idea:
What if there was a place where they can fall in love over a cup of coffee just like in the movies?

We have neat cups.

Not good at talking? Running out of things to say? No problem.Inside of the cups will be lined with prompts, so take a sip whenever yourun out of things to talk about.
When you finish your coffee and desperately do not want your date to end, take the last sip to reveal a suggestion for a second date printed at the very bottom of the cup.

We have napkins.

Play games before you start playing games.

If worst comes to worst, grab a napkin adorned with familiar pencil games to distract your date from the dry conversation.

The whole shop plays cupid.

All seatings will be in pairs to promote mingling.

Take an empty seat, or sit at an occupied table to start conversing.

These tables are conveniently jus ta little too wobbly to encourage romantic accidents.

And of course, the music is just a tad bit too loud so you’ll have to lean closer to hear what your partner is saying.

Conclusion

Hopeless romantics want a cool story to tell on how the two met, not through a DM or a match online because that’s just expected nowadays.

Cup of Fate will help you find your true love in a meet cute way.
